

Searching the Web can be very time consuming, and often not yield the results you want. That is frustrating. We at TeacherEducation.com have compiled a list of what we believe are valuable links for teachers. This list is a work in progress. Please feel free to send us your favorite links. Education World - This searchable site provides annotated links to Internet resources for teachers. Lesson plans, curriculum ideas, and information for administrators can also be found at this site. Each week brings a new feature area with information specifically for educators.
Education Index - This site contains some of the best and most useful education related sites on the Web. Sites are sorted by subject and "lifestage" and are all annotated.
ERIC - The National Library of Education hosts The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC). This site is useful for finding quality lesson plans, information on articles for research purposes, and is a searchable database.
Blue Web'n - Pacific Bell Knowledge Network Explorer hosts Blue Web'n, Filamentality, and lessons and learning resources as a part of their online learning services. Teachers can find a variety of useful information at these sites including online tutorials, telecommunications projects, lesson plans, references and tools, and other online resources for teachers.
FREE - Federal Resources for Educational Excellence (FREE) is sponsored by 30 Federal agencies that work together to provide teaching and learning resources. This is an incredible site with excellent materials for the K-12 classroom.
Classroom Connect - Classroom Connect provides K-12 teachers with lesson plans, telecommunication projects and cyber trips, education links and professional development information. This site is a great starting point for teachers new to using the Internet.
Global Schoolhouse - The Global Schoolhouse links kids, teachers and parents around the world! They provide Web projects, cool sites, contests and competitions, discussion lists, articles, resources and tools, and information about professional development.
Schrock's Guide - Kathy Schrock is a classroom teacher that has developed an incredible Web site with outstanding resources for teachers. Her site is now hosted by the Discovery Channel School.
Tammy's Technology Tips for Teachers - This site features classroom management tips, classroom projects and lesson plans, information on how to effectively use computers in your classroom, electronic portfolios, and more! Check it out!
ED's Oasis - ED's Oasis is sponsored by Classroom Connect. Teachers can find information on Web site evaluation, lesson evaluation, numerous resources, lesson plans, articles, contest information, and much more!
InTech 2000 Forum - Teachers can find lesson plans linked to Florida's Sunshine State Standards at this site, as well as participate in a Message Board to communicate with other teachers across the state!
WebQuests: A strategy for Scaffolding Higher Level Learning - This page outlines the process of creating a WebQuest project. There are also many useful links to examples of WebQuest projects and a rubric for evaluating WebQuest projects.


The Field Museum of History - This museum is located in Chicago and you can take your students on a virtual field trip. Right now students can learn about Sue, the largest most complete Tyrannosaurus rex!
Miami Museum of Science - The Miami Museum of Science provides teachers with lesson plans in addition to being able to take students on a virtual tour!


Center Key Pals and Correspondents Exchange - This project is from the Houghton Mifflin Project Center and joins classrooms that want to participate in email projects.
Intercultural E-mail Classroom Connections - This project links classrooms around the world to assist students in learning about other cultures via email.
ThinkQuest - This is an annual international contest for students ages 12 - 19. Teams of students, along with a coach, create Web pages that teach a concept. Winners receive a scholarship!
ThinkQuest Jr. - This project is open to students in grades 4 - 6 in the United States.
The JASON Project - Each year the JASON Project takes a new expedition. Visit the site to learn what this year's project is! Teachers can receive materials to assist with incorporating the current project into their classroom. ALl projects focus on science and technology.
The Odyssey World Trek - This project started in 1999 and joins students from across the world with local experts to learn about different cultures and areas of the world. It is free to teachers and they provide classroom resources to assist with curriculum integration!
Educational Web Adventures - This site features Web adventures and online activities to integrate into art, science, and social studies. There are many excellent adventures for your students to work through!
USA Today Education Online - Teaching your students about current events is easy when you use this Web site.
CNN Learning Resources - This site offers web-delivered instruction using current and past CNN San Francisco bureau news stories. Material is presented in various ability levels, and interactive activities to test comprehension. This is easy to use in the classroom and students really enjoy learning about current events in this fashion.
